1980s Ross "Compact" 10 speed women's road bike. Just refurbished, tuned-up and ready to ride. A strong 17 inch "lugged" steel frame. Durable 3 piece chrome crank set. Chrome 26 inch steel wheels are mounted with new gum wall tires. Equipped with the popular Shimano "Positron" (FF / Front Freewheel) system which allows the rider to shift each of the 10 speeds while coasting, pedaling or even walking the bike. Even has a new chain. Shift the gears with the neck mounted alloy Shimano shifters. Stop quick with the front and rear operated Shimano hand brakes. The dropped road-style handlebars include the factory safety levers and the bars are freshly wrapped with new riding tape. This red bicycle was sold new at the "Bicycle King" in Las Vegas, NV. Ross bikes have become extremely rare on the west coast and becoming scarce everywhere else too. They were arguably one of the best American built bicycles of their day. Ross stopped manufacturing bicycles in 1987 and in 1989 closed their doors forever. Sorry no shipping, local pick up and purchase only.
